The UTSA men’s golf team turned in a final score of 895 (304-293-298) to finish in 11th place at the 14th annual UTSA Oak Hills Invitational held at Oak Hills Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Roadrunners were led by senior Kyle Collins’ 69-73-74 216, which tied for 17th place. Freshman Payne Wilkie turned a scorecard of 76-72-76 224 and tied for 44th, while junior Ryan Kiel ended his tournament two strokes and seven places behind Wilkie.
Sophomore Lewis Chong capped off his tournament with a final-round 74 to finish tied for 59th with a two-day total of 230. Junior Emiliano Martinez registered a three-round tally of 233 to tie for 65th. Playing as an individual was Isaac Idstein, who ended his run with a 236 for 70th.
Texas Tech turned in a team total of 824 to win the team title, while Chris Ward of Texas Tech won the individuals with a final score of 202.
The Roadrunners are off until the Louisiana Classic on March 9-10 in Lafayette, La.
