Women’s Tennis Slams SFA, 7-0

NACOGDOCHES – The UTSA women’s tennis team ended its regular season on a winning note with a 7-0 victory at Stephen F. Austin on Sunday.
The Roadrunners (9-12, 6-5 SLC) jumped on the Ladyjacks (8-14, 3-8 SLC) early after sweeping all three doubles matches.UTSA then won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Junior Eva Silvester increased the lead to 2-0 with her 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 6 position. Back-to-back wins by juniors Nathalie Wallin and Monika Drabkova at No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, clinched the match for the Roadrunners. Meanwhile, junior Karen Scida collected a 6-3, 6-2 win over Roxana Enica at the top slot and freshman Caroline Dedering won her match by a score of 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 4 position.
UTSA returns to Nacogdoches on April 25-27 for the 2008 Southland Conference Tournament.
