Rampage Split Back-to-Back Against Oklahoma City Barons

The Rampage (17-21-0-4) split back-to-back road gamesagainst the Oklahoma City Barons with a 4-2 victory Friday Jan. 18 and a 2-1defeat Saturday Jan. 19 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

In their 2-1 loss Saturday, the Rampage surrendered alate-3rd period goal in what looked to be a solid pointpaying result beforeOklahoma City’s late-game score. Andre Deveaux scored San Antonio’s only goalat the 16:02 mark in the 2nd period.

Goalie Jacob Markstrom delivered another strong performancewith 34 saves. Markstrom stopped 80 of 84 shots in the back-to-back contestsagainst the Barons. Also he has not allowed more than two scores per game insix of his last seven appearances in the net.

On Friday (Jan. 18), Jacob Markstrom’s 46 saves lifted theRampage to their first road victory against a division opponent 4-2. Despitebeing outshot 48-25, the Rampage held the AHL’s best power play scoreless (0-4).

Jon Rheault and Greg Rallo each recorded their 14th goals ofthe season. Also, Quinton Howden and Alex Petrovic chipped in with a goalapiece.

The two-game road stint comes after an AHL announcement onThursday (Jan. 17), which named Rampage forward Drew Shore a Western ConferenceAll-Star. Shore will play alongside 13 forwards, eight defensemen, and threegoalkeepers who were also selected for the team. The 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHLAll-Star Classic is set for Monday (Jan. 28) at 7 p.m. ET in Providence,R.I.

From their East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) affiliate, theCincinnati Cyclones, the Rampage recalled forward John McFarland and defensemanBrian O’Hanley. Additionally, the Rampage signed Cyclones defenseman NolanJulseth-White to a professional tryout contract.

Despite the rocky start to the 2012-13 season, the Rampagehold a record of 7-4-0-1 in their last 12 games. The Rampage will face theTexas Stars at the AT&T Center Friday Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
