In compliance with the Clergy Act, UTSA keeps a daily crime log for all on-campus crimes. The log summarizes the case’s date, time, location, incident and current status. The crimes detailed below are taken directly from the crime log, showcasing the trends recorded from March 2 to March 15.
Motor vehicle theft
A motor vehicle theft and other offenses were reported on March 2 at 1:50 p.m. at Brackenridge Ave. Lot 1. The other crimes include possession of a controlled substance PG 2; possession of marijuana: less than 2 oz.; possession, purchase, consumption or receipt of cigarettes/e-cigarettes; and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. These offenses were cleared by arrest.
Driving while intoxicated
Driving while intoxicated 2nd was reported on March 3 at 1:57 a.m. at Valero Way, a public property near campus. A DWI 2nd means this was a repeated offense for this individual; the case was cleared by arrest.
Another DWI offense occurred and was reported on Wednesday, March 12 at 2:14 a.m. The offense took place at Brackenridge Ave. Lot 3 and was cleared by arrest.
Duty on striking unattended vehicle
Duty on striking an unattended vehicle was reported on March 3. The offense occurred from 12:40 p.m. to 4:23 p.m. at Bauerle Road Garage. The case remains active. This offense occurred again, separately, on Tuesday, March. 4 at Brackenridge Ave. Lot 1, the offense occurred and was reported at 2:09 p.m., the case is still active.
Stalking
Stalking was reported on March 4. The offense occurred from March 1 to March 4 on UTSA Main Campus. This case is now a closed incident.
Larceny/theft
Multiple larceny/theft offenses were reported on March 4., all unrelated. At 10:37 a.m. at University Oaks Apartments, larceny/theft was reported with the estimated value of the stolen property being $100-$749.99 with the offense occurring from March 2 to March 3. Later that day, the same offense was reported at Alvarez Residence Hall, with the stolen property being valued at under $100; the crime occurred on Feb. 17. That night, Larceny/theft was reported at Chisholm Hall, with the estimated value of the stolen property being $100-$749.99. The crime occurred from Feb. 25 to March 4. All cases remain active.
At Chaparral Village, larceny/theft occurred and was reported on March 5 at 12:50 p.m. The estimated value of the stolen property is $100-$749.99. The report was unfounded, meaning the offense was found to be false or baseless.
At the John Peace Library, larceny/theft was reported again on March 6. The offense occurred on March 5 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the estimated value of the stolen property being $100-$749.99. The same offense occurred and was reported later on March 6 at the Student Union at 3:55 p.m., with the estimated value of the stolen property being $100-$749.99. Both cases remain active.
Theft of service occurred again on March 7 at the McKinney Humanities Building. The estimated value of the stolen service is $100-$749.99. The offense occurred from 11:10 p.m. to 11:24 p.m.; it was reported at the same time. The case is still active.
At University Oaks Apartments, mail theft was reported on Wednesday, March 12. The offense took place from the day before to the day reported. Larceny/theft was reported again at the Ximenes Ave Lot. The offense took place from the day before to the day reported. The estimated value of the stolen property is $750-$2499.99. Both cases remain active.
Larceny/theft occurred and was reported on Thursday, March 13, at 9:47 a.m. at the Frio Street Building. The estimated value of the stolen property is less than $100. This case is now inactive. An hour later, the same crime was reported. This larceny/theft offense took place from Tuesday, March 11, to Wednesday, March 12, at San Pedro I. Assault
