River City Rockfest hits AT&T Center this May

Bored this summer? The River City Rockfest is celebrating its second annual festival at the AT&T Center on Saturday, May 24. This day-long outdoor event will host four stages with more than 25 bands to play.

Kid Rock will be the headliner of the festival, along with Five Finger Death Punch, Deftones, Seether, Black Label Society, Killswitch Engage and many more.

“After last year’s terrific launch, we are really looking forward to an even bigger and better 2014 River City Rockfest,” stated Rick Pych, Spurs Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations. “We [will] continue to develop Rockfest into the premier concert experience for music fans in all of South Texas.”

Developed by Spurs Sports & Entertainment in partnership with AEG Live, the festival is a celebration of rock music and is the largest festival of its kind in South Texas.

The inaugural festival, headlined by Guns N’ Roses and Alice in Chains, brought more than 14,000 people to the parking lot of the AT&T Center.

Kid Rock will be bringing several genres to the table from country to rap/rock. You can always find something new with him. Seether will bring a little post-grunginess to the stage while Five Finger Death Punch, Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society and Killswitch Engage bring the metalcore.

Black Stone Cherry and Hellyeah will provide the southern rock, and Redlight King and Skindred will also be performing, bringing reggae and alternative sounds to their rock.

Truck Fighters will add a little psychedelic sounds while Texas will push its Brit pop ways. Rapper Mark Morales will be performing during the festival as well.

With other band names such as Lynnwood King and the Revival, Slowlikefire, Donella Drive, Lonely Horse, Kyng, Butcher Babies and Eve To Adam, it’s hard not to pass up listening to the sounds that they create.

Go out and enjoy the day-long festival at the AT&T Center on Saturday, May 24 starting at noon. General admission tickets can be purchased for $49.50 (plus fees), and VIP packages will be offered at $179.50 (plus fees).
