Soccer defeats TSU 7-0, loses to Tech 3-0

UTSA defeated Texas Southern 7-0 on Friday for the third consecutive year.

Coincidently, it was the third straight time the Roadrunners defeated Texas Southern 7-0.

Sophomore Allison Dillon scored two goals in the first 20 minutes. Junior Veronica Najera and freshman Taylor Padia each scored a goal to put the ‘Runners up 4-0 at midway point.

Freshman Hannah Collazo, Sheri Olayiwola and junior Kari Weiland scored goals in the second half, giving the ‘Runners a dominate win.

Unfortunately, Sunday’s outcome was a disappointment as the ‘Runners were defeated by the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 3-0.

UTSA’s next match is against the UT Longhorns in Austin, Sept. 5.

It will be the first of a five-game tour for the ‘Runners as they face North Texas, Baylor, Utah State and Southern Utah and then TCU here at home.
