Is The Paisano UTSA’s student newspaper?

While The Paisano serves UTSA’s student body and the surrounding communities, we are not affiliated with UTSA. We operate independently from the university and receive no financial assistance or content limitations. 

 

What makes The Paisano an independent newspaper?

The Paisano operates without oversight or financial assistance from UTSA. We are entirely self-funded and do not rely on any university programs for funding, except for any advertising bookings they make with us. Our independence extends to all aspects of our operations. The Paisano operates under The Paisano Educational Trust, a 501(c)(3) non–profit organization. 

 

How does The Paisano maintain independence?

The Paisano operates under The Paisano Educational Trust, a 501(c)(3) non–profit organization. Our independence is maintained through advertising revenue and donations. Is The Paisano located on campus?

Although located off-campus, The Paisano is conveniently a 5-10 minute walk from UTSA’s main campus. Our office is housed on land owned by The Paisano, at 14526 Roadrunner Way, behind The Block Food Truck Park.

 

What is the process for getting involved?

The primary requirement for getting involved with The Paisano is to be a current UTSA student in either undergraduate or graduate school. We do accept alumni articles on a case-by-case basis. For more information on participating, visit our “Join Us” webpage.

 

Who writes the Editorial? 

The Editorial is written by and features the collective opinion of our Editorial Board. It is published through our Opinion section.
