The Roadrunners split their two-game weekend bout between the No.8 Texas Longhorns and North Texas. UTSA fell to Texas Friday night 3-0 in Austin but salvaged the weekend shutting out North Texas 1-0 in Denton.

The Longhorns drained all three goals in the first half against the Runners. UTSA (3-3) was able to keep them from scoring in the second half but the damage had already been done.

Sunday, freshman forward Taylor Padia kicked the game winner against North Texas on an assist from fellow freshman defender Jodi Laroy in the 44th minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Nicoline Joergensen was able to redeem herself from Friday night as she recorded her first career win along with seven saves on the day. Leroy’s pass was her first collegiate assist, while Padia scored her second goal of the season.

UTSA continues its five-game road-trip as they take on the Baylor Bears Sunday Sept. 14 in Waco.

The Runners then take their road-trip to Utah to battle Utah State Sept. 18 and Southern Utah Sept. 20.
