The Roadrunners rolled past East Central 103-80 Wednesday night at the Convocation Center. The Runners put on an offensive show, shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc for the game. Devin Gibson led the way, scoring a game high 24 points including a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.
The Runners started the first half hot, scoring almost at will and opening up an immediate lead against East Central. The Tigers would start a small comeback but it would not be enough and at the end of the first half, UTSA led 41-34.
In the second half, the Runners picked up where they left off, going on several scoring runs and ending the game with a 23 point advantage. The Runners also dominated the glass; lead by DeMarco Stepter and his game high 9 rebounds, UTSA out rebounded East Central 52-25 in the game.
The Roadrunnersput their undefeated record on the line as they travelled to Richmond, Kentucky to participate in the O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic Sub regional games.
The team continued their winning streak with a 66-56 defeat over UC Irvine on Nov. 23.
On Nov. 24, they face Fairleigh Dickinson with a tip off scheduled for 7 p.m.
They will wrap up play against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 25 with that game scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
The Roadrunners will be back Nov. 28, and will play TSU in the Convocation Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
