Volleyball win two of three over weekend

UTSA finished their last three games at home with an overall record of 18-10, winning two out of three games and play their last two games on the road.

Last Tuesday, the Runners swept the Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Islanders in three sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-18). Sophomore Kendra Rowland had 16 kills in the victory over the Islanders.

The Runners faced the Nicholls State Colonels Friday losing in four sets (25-23, 25-21, 13-25, 26-24). Freshman Amber Brooks had a double-double with 41 assists and 15 digs. Junior Stefanie Robbins led UTSA with 17 kills and freshman Kelsey Jewasko was active on defense with 23 digs.

At the last home game of the season, the Runners faced the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions going the distance for the victory defeating them in five sets (17-25, 25-17,25-20,15-25, 15-7). Rowland grabbed her 15th double-double of the season with 15 kills and 15 digs. Freshman Elise Huskey got a double-double as well with 14 kills and 13 digs.

UTSA enters a pivotal stretch with games at I-35 rival Texas State Nov. 13 and UT Arlington, Nov. 15.
