In compliance with the Clery Act, UTSA keeps a public daily crime log that houses all on-campus crimes. The log summarizes the case’s date, time, location, incident and current status. The crimes detailed below are taken directly from the crime log, showcasing the trends that premiered from Sept. 14 to Sept. 22.
Larceny and theft
Once again, theft is a recurring theme for this week’s crime log. Three separate theft cases were reported from Sept. 16 to Sept. 22. All these crimes took place in distinct locations, such as Chisholm Hall, Sombrilla and Main Campus.
Striking unattended vehicle
On Sept. 17, an unattended vehicle was struck where the duty to notify was not completed. The incident occurred at the Tobin Avenue Garage on campus and was reported at 5:06 p.m. The case remains active.
Accident duty violation
On Sept. 15, there was a car accident where the duty to give information and render aid was not completed. The crime happened on 1604 Access Rd. and was reported at 6:41 p.m. This incident remains active.
Minor in possession and consumption of alcohol
On Sept. 14, a minor was caught in the consumption of alcohol and possession of alcohol. The incident took place at University Oaks Phase 3 and was reported at 11:21 p.m. This case was cleared by arrest.
Possession of a controlled substance
On Sept. 15, a person was caught in possession of drug paraphernalia and less than 2 oz. of marijuana. The incident took place in the Durango Building and was reported at 11:32 p.m. The case was cleared by arrest on Sept. 16.
Burglary of Vehicle
On Sept. 15, there were two cases of burglary of vehicles. The incidents occurred at University Oaks Building 43 and the Ximenes Ave Lot on campus. These cases were reported at 4:02 p.m. and 9:49 p.m. but remain active.
Criminal Mischief
On Sept. 14, a person was caught committing the act of criminal mischief. The incident took place in Resident Lot 1 on campus and was reported at 3:01 a.m. The case was closed by exceptional means.
