Austin City Limits kicked off its off its most-awaited festival weekend this Friday, and people are preparing excitedly to see their favorite artists perform live.
Quick checklists and do-not-forgets are doodled on sticky notes in an attempt to remember everything needed, especially the admission wristband. So, here is a compilation of the top five items that people do not remember to bring and definitely should not forget to have the best time at ACL.
Bandanas
Not only bandanas but face masks or any type of face coverings are highly recommended due to the copious amounts of dust in the air that filters through the nose. Other than tickets, this is most important thing to bring.
Blankets
A place to rest or sit is absolutely necessary after walking around all day or waiting for artists to perform. Bringing a blanket for the grass, a foldable chair or even a huge towel are all items festival-goers can depend on when they need to take a breather.
Fans
The sun in Texas is nothing to joke around with; a portable fan is a must-have to cool off from the heat. There are fans that plug directly into a phone, but a battery-powered fan works just fine for those concerned with draining their phone charge.
Portable Charger
If the fear of draining a phone battery with a portable fan is still palpable, then bringing a portable charger is imperative to not miss out on the best moments of the festival. ACL also has charging stations all over the park, so bringing a phone charger is also an option for people who do not own a portable one.
Clear Bag
All of these items have to fit somewhere. The clear bag policy is still in motion with the exception of bags smaller than 6”x 9”, but bags bigger than that have to be clear and a maximum of 12” x 6” x 12”.
Sunscreen
Once again, the Texas sun is nothing to joke around with, so to avoid painful sunburns, wearing sunscreen is highly recommended. Aerosol sunscreens are not allowed; instead, bring a lotion chemical or mineral suncreen.
There is a full list of items that are and are not permitted, which is important to know as they are meant for the safety of all festival-goers. It is also important to make sure what is brought can be reused or disposed of safely, to maintain the cleanliness and sustainability of the park overall.
