Hatha yoga ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hatha yoga, which translates to “union of discipline and force” can be found as the perfect place to focus on clearing the mind and forgetting about schoolwork. This slow-paced yoga class emphasizes holding poses for longer periods, which strengthens the core and enhances muscle stability. The instructor creates a welcoming environment and is supportive to all the students, even those who haven’t attended before. Using a provided yoga mat and block, the instructor leads the class through different yoga poses and guides students through meditative breathing. While the class can be labeled as gentle, it was no joke, as it proved to be a challenge both physically and mentally. Despite the challenges of Hatha yoga, it was overall a rejuvenating experience and a nice way to take a brain break in the midst of midterms and school stress. The environment, yoga and even the people, made it worthwhile and enjoyable for all those who attended.
