The UTSA Recreation Center offers a series of workout classes each week that occur between 7:30 am to 7:45 pm with nine different classes daily. The classes are very diverse and are open for everyone; whether it’s intense cardio, relaxing yoga or even dancing. It is a time where students can forget the pressures of school and release all the stress they have and simply enjoy the rejuvenation of their body and mind.
Synergy 360 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Synergy is a 45-minute intense mixture of agility drills, intervals and circuits located in the racquetball court with various amounts of workout equipment and a jungle gym. This fast-paced class is a mixture of body strengthening and heavy cardio. For about three rounds, there are 12 stations that last 40 seconds each, but there are no rests until a full rotation is completed. From start to end the instructor has an energetic energy and an upbeat playlist that fuels all the participants throughout the whole class. Along with their energy, the other participants brought even more spirit to the class as many were regulars who were equally friendly and motivating. It is a non-stop circuit that is intense until the end, where the instructor goes through a short five minute cool down of yoga stretches. Despite the difficulty, Synergy will imbue energy into the body and mind for the remainder of the day and leave a refreshed feeling within. With everything included, the class is one that many should try at least once, to have that rewarding feeling and take a mental rest from the stress of school.
