This Christmas, audiences will have the opportunity to see two legends on the big screen. The first, Bob Dylan, will be portrayed by Timothée Chalamet in James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown.” Shockingly, the complete unknown many seem enthused about is Bill Skarsgard’s portrayal of the titular character in Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu.”
The trailers for “Nosferatu” have yet to show the vampire in all his glory. Instead, Nosferatu’s silhouette continuously teases the audience’s imagination. Eggers continues the suspense in his recent marketing ventures for the film.
In ten theaters across the United States, there is a 575 pound replica of Count Orlok’s sarcophagus from Eggers’ “Nosferatu.” San Antonio was lucky enough to be one of the cities on the list with the Santikos Palladium, located at 17703 W Interstate 10 Frontage Rd, receiving the promotional material. The coffin is intricately detailed, complete with skulls, beasts and satanic symbols etched in the lid. The immensity of the piece alludes to the formidable frightfulness Skarsgard will surely inflict upon audiences this holiday season.
There is no information available on how long the piece will be on display, so check it out sooner rather than later. The film is set to release in theaters everywhere on Dec. 25.
