UTSA Football has shown a total of 10 uniforms, showcasing a new one each game. Sporting the colors navy, white, orange and black, the team managed to combine a multitude of uniforms to mix it up weekly. Below, five of the uniform combinations have been ranked from worst to best — although all the uniforms are unique and stylish in their own way.
- White jersey and orange bottoms
This uniform, worn against Rice University, was not a fan favorite. The uniform featured a neat design for Hispanic Heritage Month, putting this uniform on the leaderboard. The bright orange pop between the white helmet and shoes had an interesting color-blocked effect and looked cool, but overall was not the most striking uniform out there. While the pieces flowed well together, the orange tended to be a bit deterring, putting it at the bottom.
- White helmet, navy jersey and white bottoms
This combination was neatly color-blocked with the stark pop of navy amid a white-out. The combo was not only visually appealing but also gave a nice twist to the white and blue combinations the team had been sporting previously. The mix and match of basic pieces was a step out of the box that UTSA had not yet taken and was a hit on the field as intended.
- White helmet and white bottoms, mixed with the new black jersey and shoes
The Roadrunners looked disconcerting in the best way possible. Against University of North Texas, the ‘Runners not only outmatched them on the field but also with their style. As the first showcase of these black uniform pieces, the mix-up was a unique look UTSA had never seen before. With intimidation and sophistication mixed in this set, the team looked like a force in the Alamodome that was simply untouchable.
- The head-to-toe white set
With a white helmet, jersey and bottoms, the team pulls off a sleek, well-dressed look that pops on the field. Worn in game two against Texas State University, the look was electric to see on the field from the team and was one of the best UTSA has put out there. The sun shining on the ‘runners in their all-white uniforms at the UFCU stadium had them nearly glowing on the turf.
- The all-black uniform with white highlights
Making a show-stopping appearance on the field Nov. 2 against the University of Memphis. The intricately designed uniform features a white helmet and accents of the San Antonio city skyline on the back in black. With a sleek overall look, the football team took ‘show up and show out’ to another level with this uniform and absolutely dominated.
