9 a.m. Exhibit: “Made in Texas”
The Institute of Texan Cultures (801 E César Chávez) presents “Made in Texas,” an exhibit focusing on a wide array of items made in Texas. The exhibit will also explore the impact and influence of Texan creations throughout the world. Admission is free for UTSA students.
10 a.m. Exhibit: “Witte Museum’s Annual Fiesta Exhibition”
The Witte Museum (3801 Broadway St.) presents their annual Fiesta exhibition. The main emphasis for this year’s exhibition will be on the military, with works including coronation robes of the Duchesses of the Armed Forces and historic photographs depicting the military’s participation in past Fiesta celebrations. Admission is $7-$10.
10 a.m. Exhibit: “Fiesta, Fête, Festival”
The McNay Art Museum (6000 N. New Braunfels Ave.) presents “Fiesta, Fête, Festival,” an exhibit displaying various objects from numerous festivals from around the world in comparison with San Antonio’s Fiesta celebrations. Admission is $5-$10.
10 a.m. Exhibit: “Pasión Popular”
San Antonio Museum of Art (200 W. Jones St.) presents “Pasión Popular: Spanish and Latin American Folk Art from the Cecere Collection.” The exhibit features almost 400 pieces of ethnographic art donated to the museum by Peter B. Cecere including religious paintings, masks and toys. Admission is $5-10.
11 a.m. Exhibit: “See You in the Spring”
AnArte Gallery (7959 Broadway) presents “See You in the Spring,” an exhibit featuring artwork from artist Brook Rosser. Inspired by Mexican folk art and her grandmother, Rosser’s work will feature painting, drawing and decoupage. Admission is free.
8:30 p.m. Comedy: “The Oxymorons”
Rivercenter Comedy Club (849 E. Commerce) presents “The Oxymorons,” an interactive comedy show in which audience members make suggestions and take part in the show. Admission is $10.
Wednesday, May 1
9 a.m. Exhibit: “Fiesta Medal Mania”
The Institute of Texan Cultures (801 E. César Chávez) presents “Fiesta Medal Mania,” an exhibit which will display Fiesta medals from throughout the event’s history. Medals from this year’s Fiesta, as well as some from the past, will be available to purchase, along with a medal-making segment at 10 a.m. Admission is free for UTSA students.

9 a.m. Exhibit: “Why We Came”
The Institute of Texas Cultures (801 E. César Chávez) presents “Why We Came: The Immigration Experience.” The exhibit explores the many different challenges of immigration as well as the process of leaving one home for a new one. Admission is free for UTSA students.
12 p.m. Exhibit: “Kelley Eggert, Dewayne Hughes, Guus Kemp”
Gallery Nord (2009 NW. Military) presents artwork by Kelley Eggert, Dewayne Hughes and Guus Kemp—three local Houston artists. Artwork featured will display the different methods employed by each respective artists and will showcase the different styles and subject matter from each as well. Admission is free.
6:30 p.m. Event: “Thirsty Horse Saloon 2013 Live Music Series at The County Line”
The County Line (10101 I-10 W.) hosts a concert series every Wednesday until July 31 benefitting the San Antonio Food Bank. The concert is free, although a monetary donation or a donation of canned goods is highly encouraged. Headliners come to the stage at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
Thursday, May 2
12 p.m. Exhibit: “Paula Feeley”
Lawrence Markey (311 Sixth Street) presents paintings by late artist Paula Feeley. Feeley’s paintings showcase abstract subjects, along with bold colors and unique compositions. Admission is free.

7 p.m. Jazz Poets Writing Sessions
Espresso Gallery (529 San Pedro) hosts free writing sessions. These writing sessions are provided by the Jazz Poets of San Antonio, headed by Eduardo Garza who also serves as drummer for the band. The Jazz Poetry Band backs up the poets starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
8 p.m. Theater: “Masquerade”
The Overtime Theater (1203 Camden St.) presents “Masquerade,” a comedy by James Venhaus. The play focuses on the meeting of a group of comic book fans and a drag queen and is an expanded version of one of Venhaus’ short works. Admission is $10-$14.
8 p.m. Music: “Arturo ‘Sauce’ Gonzalez Quintet”
Joe Blue’s (1420 S. Alamo St. Bldg. D) hosts Arturo “Sauce” Gonzalez for a night of jazz-funk, bebop, jazz and blues. Admission is free.
Friday, May 3
9 p.m. UCinema Night: “Warm Bodies”
The Retama Auditorium will screen the zombie romantic comedy Warm Bodies about an unusual relationship between a young woman and a zombie. The film is based on a novel by Isaac Marion of the same name. Admission is free and popcorn will be provided.

9 p.m. DJ Bl3nd
Club Rio (13307 San Pedro Ave.) will present L.A. native DJ Bl3end and his high energy mixes. Known for his Creepshow comic-like video for his single “Beserk,” DJ Bl3nd is expected to bring his horror act to Club Rio. Admission is $15-$25

Saturday, May 4
11 a.m. Book Signing: “Don Varney”
The Twig Book Shop (306 Pearl Parkway, Ste. 106) will host a book signing with Don Varney, author of “The Action Driven Life: Seven Steps to Finding Your Winning Formula.” The signing is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

7 p.m. Outdoor Film Screening
Slab Cinema will host a double feature at San Antonio’s former drive-in theater, Mission Drive-in Theater (Roosevelt Ave and VFW Boulevard). “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Trek” will be played starting at 7 p.m. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are welcome. 7 p.m. Exhibit: David Rangel
Hello Studio (1020 Roosevelt Ave Unit B) will present up-and-coming artist David Rangel and his photography. An opening reception will take place May 5 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. The exhibit will be available until May 15.

12 p.m. Exhibit: “Witte Museum’s Annual Fiesta Exhibition”
