The Roadrunners Women’s Cross Country recorded first place team finishes at the TLU Invitational and at the UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic, which they successfully defended their crown for a second straight year. But UTSA finished just a few points shy of winning the WAC Conference championship to Idaho.
“We did extremely well in women’s cross country. We just missed winning a championship by a couple of points,” UTSA Director of the cross country team Aaron Fox said. “The great thing is that this is a group of girls that we’re bringing back next year going into Conference USA and they’re going to be really hungry with just missing that title in the WAC by a couple of points.”
UTSA was anchored by junior Alyssa Diaz who was awarded WAC Athlete Week in back-to-back weeks in September. She also finished in the top five in four out of seven events.
