Despite not placing first all season, the Roadrunners women’s golf team played consistently well and earned the universities first ever at-large bid into the NCAA postseason. The selection was their third straight NCAA Regional appearance.

“I’m pleased with the way our team responded to the high level of competition we faced this season on the way to our third straight NCAA Regional. What made it even more special was the fact that it was the first at-large bid to an NCAA postseason event by any program in UTSA history, and that’s something I think our team will always remember,” UTSA women’s head golf coach

Carrie Parnaby said. “I can’t say enough about our lone senior Paola Valerio, and what she has meant to the program the last four years. She will be missed, but we are excited to get back on the course and prepare for the challenges that next season will bring.”

Valerio leaves the team on a personal high note with her best finish in three NCAA regional appearances with a tie for 30th place. She also is the first player in program history to be named first or second team all-conference in all four seasons. Junior Fabiola Arriaga will lead the way next season as she has five top 10 finishes and a team high 74.81 stroke average.
