UTSA’s third season of football is all the buzz around campus as the 8-4 season in the WAC has people looking forward to what the Roadrunners can do in Conference USA. The ‘Runners ended the year with a three game winning streak and now have a 12-10 overall record under UTSA football head coach Larry Coker.
“I said before last season started that we are going to compete and be the best we can be each week. I can honestly say I am very proud of our players and coaches,” Coker said. “Being 8-4 is well deserved and the four teams we lost to were pretty good and all bowl eligible. The players bought in, were focused and worked hard every day, and the results showed in what we were able to accomplish.”
The Roadrunners had no problem scoring; averaging 31.2 points per game behind quarterback Eric Soza’s 20 passing touchdowns. Safeties Triston Wade and Nic Johnston anchor the ‘Runners defense as they each recorded 45 solo tackles last season.
