The Austin Psych Fest returns for its third year at the Far Out Lounge, at 8504 South Congress Ave., Austin, TX, on April 25-27.
The festival kicks off with preshows on Thursday, April 24. Etran De L’Aïr takes the stage at the Hotel Vegas Venue and Bar, 1502 E 6th St., at 6:30 p.m. Over at the Mohawk, 912 Red River St., Ringo Deathstarr and LSD and The Search for God perform. Kadavar, along with Christina Bland and the Revelations, play at 9 p.m. at the 13th Floor, 711 Red River St.
Over the weekend, 13th Floor hosts the Psych Fest’s late-night shows, which begin at 10 p.m. On Friday, SUNNS and Queen Serene play. Heavy Blanket (J Mascis) headlines the Saturday show with support from Primitive Ring, and Levitation Room with Los Blenders closes the festival on Sunday.
The festival’s programming occurs on the Janis Stage and the Willie Stage of the Far Out Lounge. Zero overlapping performances occur, so that festival goers may indulge in the anthems of the 30 musical acts playing at the Far Out Lounge.
Festival pass prices range from $75 for single-day general admission to $475 for a deluxe three-day pass. Deluxe single-day general admission for $175, and the general admission three-day pass costs $195. All ticket prices are subject to online processing fees.
Students can take advantage of a special discount beginning on April 8 at 10 a.m. and ending at midnight on April 13. Use code “learn” at checkout along with a current university email to receive 20% off ticket prices.
