Over this past weekend, from November 2-4, Austin reaffirmed its slogan of being the “Live Music Capital of the World” by once again hosting Fun Fun Fun Fest.
Entering its seventh year of existence and second year at Auditorium Shores, Fun Fun Fun Fest is a music festival dedicated to celebrating all of the quality independent music acts that are commonly ignored by the larger music festivals.Fun Fun Fun Fest also manages to pull the fest of being one of the most diverse music festivals around, booking bands of every genre from punk legends like X and Turbonegro, creative electronica from Daughn Gibson and STRFKR, metal ranging from the transcendental death metal of Liturgy to Converage’s metalcore hybrid, indie rock from the breezy Real Estate to fuzz-rock kings Superchunk, to rappers ranging in style from Danny Brown to reformed legends Run-DMC.
It was a weekend of dust, of heat and of crowds, but it was also a weekend of pure, musical bliss.
