Shanty shack provides relief

Members of Student Government Association (SGA) built a shanty shack to raise money in support of the victims of the Haiti earthquake that devastated the country two weeks ago. All proceeds and donations raised will be donated to the Red Cross.

Derek Trimm, SGA vice president, said that he plans to hold the Jan. 27 SGA general meeting at the shanty shack.

“I hope that it will make us more visible and bring in some much needed support for Haiti,” Trimm said.

Nicole Munoz, public relations chair of SGA said that if she could do one thing it would be to show students that the SGA is here to support students.

“We really hope that students get involved and not only donate clothes, food and money to support Haiti, but to join us as members of SGA,” she said.
