Selasie Gifa-Johnson is a dedicated Biochemistry major at the University of Texas at San
Antonio, driven by a vision to increase representation in ophthalmology and make meaningful
contributions to healthcare. With extensive volunteer experience at organizations like St. John's
Ambulance and The Eye Clinic 2020 in Calgary, they've developed crucial patient care skills
while working with diverse populations. When not focused on their pre-med studies and
volunteer work, Selasie enjoys programming in Python and working on 3D design projects.
Their combination of healthcare experience, personal interests, and commitment to community
service shapes their path toward becoming an ophthalmologist and serving underrepresented
