Corporal Harold Lee Skipper, a 15-year retired veteran of the UTSA Police Department, died Dec. 24 after a courageous battle with cancer. He continued to work and to give 100 percent even while going through cancer treatments. In fact, he received the Officer of the Semester Award for Spring 2009.
Before coming to UTSA, Skipper served in the Air Force for 24 years and retired with the rank of master sergeant.
“A beloved member of the police department, he was sorely missed when he retired and will be missed even more so following his passing,” Capt. Douglas Sonego of the UTSA Police Department said.
