UTSA is a designated early voting and Election Day voting location for San Antonio’s May elections. Registered voters can cast their ballots on Main Campus in the H-E-B Student Union ballrooms. There will also be designated parking areas for voters on the south side of the Student Union. For voters in the Downtown area, votes can be cast at the Bexar County Elections Department on 1103 S. Frio St.

Early voting began April 19 and will run until April 27 and Election Day is May 1. From April 19 to April 23 polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following week, polls will be open on April 26 and April 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on May 1 the location will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On the ballot this May is San Antonio’s next mayor, several city council races, trustee seats for six of San Antonio’s independent school districts and City of San Antonio propositions. Perhaps the most notable is Proposition B which would take away collective bargaining rights from police officers and alter how the city would negotiate contracts with the police union. On the May 1 ballot, there are more than 80 candidates competing for 11 seats.

Voters can make notes on a sample ballot and take it into polling locations.
