Freshman passes away

Jose Manuel Ramos, a UTSA freshman majoring in electrical engineering, passed away on Nov. 11 2011.

Ramos was born in San Jose, California, and attended John Paul Stevens High School where he graduated in 2011. As a freshman at UTSA, Ramos remained an enthusiastic follower of the Falcons football team and a follower of the Pumas and the Texans.

“It dawned on me that you may never know how many lives you touched until you’re gone.” wrote Josh Drisko, Ramos’ brother on his Facebook wall.

“Well, it’s safe to say you touched many people’s lives. And it’s not over yet. You will continue to touch lives even though you may not physically be with us anymore. I can almost guarantee that they have Facebook in heaven now. We’ll keep you posted. I’ve got a spot saved for you at my wedding. Love you Manny.”

Friends posted similar messages.

“I wish you could see how many lives you have touched and how many people care about you and your well being.” Paige Vidal, Ramos’ classmate from high school wrote. “Manny we all love you and we are glad you are in a wonderful paradise now with no more hurt or pain.”

“Manuel you lived a life which was not unlived,” wrote Antonio Garza, Ramos’ high school classmate. “We all loved you and we will remember you as the wonderful person you were. You always brought happiness to all through humor and laughter and your smile was something that always brightened a room. You were an individual who would make an impression on all and would not be forgotten. Your life came to an end but the relationships you had with all did not you were loved by all and will be missed dearly. May you rest in peace.

Ramos is survived by his parents, Jose and Laura Ramos; his siblings, Marisol Ramos, Esperanza Ramos, Deanna Carter, and Joshua Drisko.
