Drive the long way home

Drive+the+long+way+home

Drive the long way home down the scenic road

Where the sun shines bright and the river flows

See the mountainside and the vast blue sky

Feel the cool breeze blow and watch the birds fly high

Drive me home to the place I know where I learned how to live and I learned to grow

Looking up at the trees that stretched for miles and miles

Running around flower fields with great big smiles

Ride my bike through the neighborhood, thinking, life would always be this good

My home will always be a part of me but that life is now a memory

So, drive the long way home down the scenic road

Where the sun shines bright and the river flows

Lizzie, this brings tears to my eyes as I think about the twelve wonderful years of living in Missoula, Montana. A very reflective and heartfelt poem.
