This claim is significant since the previous COVID-19 website has changed and is now a website full of conspiracies regarding a lab leak being the origin of COVID-19. The Trump administration claims, “A lab-related incident involving gain-of-function research is the most likely the origin of COVID-19.”
The website falsely claims researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology “were sick with Covid-like symptoms in the fall of 2019” before it got to the market and infected people. The Trump administration has no evidence to support this. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines has mentioned that there is no indication the Wuhan Institute of Virology possessed the virus that caused the outbreak and global pandemic.
Declaring that the COVID-19 virus “possesses a biological characteristic that is not found in nature” is absurd to anyone educated and not a blind supporter of President Donald Trump.
Wanting closure for one of the hardest times America has had to deal with is one thing, but adding false claims and brainwashing individuals into thinking this lab leak is real makes finding closure difficult.
The COVID-19 website removed information and resources on vaccines and where to order COVID-19 tests. Americans should be unfazed by this action since this is the same man who thought quarantine was useless and refused to wear masks.
The new website is just a place where Trump can insult former President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 policies and management of his administration during the pandemic. The Trump administration is focused on creating a flashy website rather than fact-checking any of their false claims on the internet for the public’s view.
Even though it has been five years since the COVID-19 virus reached its peak, it is crucial to remain aware of the symptoms and have resources available on what to do if someone contracts the virus.
