UTSA XC competes at Arturo Barrios Invitational

On Oct. 16, the UTSA Roadrunner cross country teams made their way to College Station to compete in the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University. The women’s team placed 22nd in the 6k with a score of 622, and the men’s team placed 25th in the 8k with a score of 715. 

Senior Madeline Boswell led the women’s team, earning 6th place with a time of 20 minutes and 46.3 seconds. In 132nd place was freshman Chante Dixon with a time of 23:06.2. Following Dixon was junior Abbygail Balli, securing 174th place with a time of 23:42.9, and freshman Lily Morill with a time of 23:55.3, earning 188th place. After Balli came freshmen Joy Ojeda in 205th place, recording a time of 24:22, and Savannah Alt in 207th place with a time of 24:26.1. Shortly after Alt’s finish, freshman Brooke Veltman secured 212th place with a time of 24:32.4. Completing the women’s lineup was freshman Sydney Bravo in 223rd place, recording a time of 25:18.4. 

Sophomore Jake Smith led the men’s team, securing 76th place with a time of 24 minutes and 58.5 seconds. In 153rd place was freshman Idol Ramon with a time of 26:02.2; closely following Ramon was freshman Luke Lawhorn in 158th place, recording a time of 26:08.8. Junior JD Corona finished in 201st place with a time of 26:53.5, and to complete the men’s lineup, freshman Josh Gonzalez claimed 232nd place with a time of 27:52.6. 

The ‘Runners will be competing in the Conference USA Championships which will be held in Charlotte, N.C.
