With a week left before spring break, UT San Antonio students are trudging along, holding onto hope for the respite of a vacation. The recent end of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics and the onset of Women’s History Month begs questions of sports and celebration these Roadrunners who were eager to answer.
This week, The Paisano interviewed freshman economics major Santiago Barragan, senior politics and law major Jimena Felix, freshman finance major Michael Guerra and junior medical humanities major Kandice Amadi.
Did you watch the Winter Olympics?
Roadrunners had mixed answers on whether or not they partook in Olympics viewership. Barragan and Amadi both answered that they did not tune in to the Milano Cortina, while Felix and Guerra did turn on their TVs. Guerra commented that he “watched the hockey and curling.” Opposingly, Felix watched the men’s free skate, remarking, “I love Ilia [Malinin].”
What is the easiest major?
It seems all four Roadrunners were in agreement of what the easiest major is, stating that business or communications were the least demanding majors. Guerra pointed out that these two majors went “hand-in-hand” for their ease, while Felix teased, “I’m gonna say business, just to troll them.” Amadi agreed with Guerra that business and communications were the easiest, while Barragan simply answered communications.
How are you celebrating the women in your life?
March is Women’s History Month, and these Roadrunners are showing up and showing out for the women in their lives. Both Barragan and Guerra stated that they planned to buy items for their mothers, with Barragan adding that he will “be a little nicer” to his sister and Guerra noting that he was going to tell his girlfriend he appreciates her. Amadi and Felix took a different angle, with the former saying she was going to be “calling them, supporting them and telling them I love them.” Felix joyfully declared, “We will be going out every single day, every weekend, and we are going to party. We are going to love each other.”
What was your screen time last week?
One thing is for certain: these Roadrunners love their phones. Barragan and Felix had similar daily averages, with Barragan clocking in at nine hours a day and Felix at nine and a half. Guerra’s screentime was much lower at about five and a half hours daily. Amadi’s time landed in the middle at eight hours of phone time.
