It is the week after spring break, and ‘Runners are getting back in the swing of things. Some are starting to lock back in on assignments, while others are trying to get their grades up after detrimental midterms. Recently, there has been a feeding frenzy for Spider-Man fans, movie lovers, foodies and more.
This week on Bird on the Street, The Paisano interviewed sophomore environmental science major Elizabeth Shepard, junior business major Nathaniel Galvan, freshman biology major Aanya Dawani and freshman psychology major Damien Lewis.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ — are you tapped in?
It seems that the majority of ‘Runners are tuned in to the newest Marvel installment, but the excitement stems mostly from Tom Holland’s return to the silver screen, looking better than ever. Lewis replied with, “Yes! Tom Holland is my man!” On the other hand, Shepard mentioned, “I didn’t know a new movie was coming out,” but that she was ready to see Zendaya’s fashion. Dawani and Galvan both said they were “tapped in” and cannot wait to see it.
Oscars or awkward? How did you feel about the winners?
There was a consensus from ‘Runners that they did not keep up with the winners, with Dawani mentioning, “I have no idea about the Oscars.” What caught Shepard’s eye was the fashion, stating, “number one was Olandria [Carthen].” Lewis gave a special shout out to Zara Larsson, and Galvan exclaimed, “Michael B. Jordan the GOAT,” thrilled that the actor won.
What is the best spot to munch at on campus?
This question was met with mixed answers, but Galvin had an interesting take, asserting, “I would have to go with, currently, the new Denny’s Den,” elaborating, “I think it’s worth it.” Dawani argued the best spots are probably “Chick-fil-A or Panda [Express].” Lewis added that “If you wanna stay skinny, stay — slim thick — for the summer, I say go to Starbucks and get yourself a petite drink with a pastry.” Shepard said, “I would say the sushi place where you can get a poke bowl. They’re really good.”
Have you found love on campus?
All the ‘Runners, unfortunately, have not found love on campus. Shepard gave a warning, “Don’t find love on this campus y’all.” The others try to remain upbeat and optimistic, with Dawani mentioning, “Hopefully,” and Lewis saying, “Not yet, but, babe, if you’re seeing this, we’ll get there.” Galvan remarked, “I love everyone.”
